All 1Behind The Curtains An Interview with Planet Prudence: Women, Inspiration and Dreams!

An Interview with Planet Prudence: Women, Inspiration and Dreams!

We once asked our amazing artist friend Prudence Greets (Planet Prudence) about her artist life (if you missed that, check out our previous blog post!). And this time - in celebration of International Women's Day, we asked Prudence six questions about women, inspiration and dreams!

Her biggest influences, thoughts about feminism, important advice for you...Check out her answers below and get inspired 💡

#1 What is your favorite thing about being a woman?

I love that in this day and age we have endless possibilities, we are finding our voice and regaining our strength that was suppressed for so long. I still find myself in situations where I still have to fight for my place in a particular situation or event. Sometimes I still hear a comment like “that’s nothing a woman can do” and I think to myself that we’re not entirely there yet. But we’re getting closer. We’re growing and thriving so much as women today and we’re all working together and supporting each other massively. Being a woman today is the best that it has ever been.

#2 What does feminism mean to you?

Feminism and being a feminist is something that is so misunderstood and has nothing to do with hating men – what so many people think it is. I mean.. NO.. it’s all about equality. Men and women having equal rights. And hopefully, if I’m allowed to dream, I hope that we’ll get to a time where no matter where we live and where we come from, what skin color we have, or what gender or sexual orientation we have, we will all be treated equally and human right being not equal is just a thing of the past.

It’s all about equality. Men and women having equal rights.

#3 What is your biggest influence (man or woman) and/or icon?

I am a firm believer of the power of the universe and my all time icon has always been Jim Carrey. But I also love to listen to speeches and talks from Oprah Winfrey, Bob Proctor, Jack Canfield and Deepak Chopra.

#4 What clichés about women we should say goodbye to in 2020?

“Women should find themselves a man that can take care of them” – we can perfectly take care of ourselves and the truth is, the moment I realized that, I finally fell in love with a man that respects me SO much! I think by always believing that rule of finding that man who will take care of us, we settle for way less because by believing that, we could never believe that we were perfectly fine on our own and don’t need to settle for less than we deserve.

We are perfectly fine on our own - we don't need to settle for less than we deserve.

#5 If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?

To live entirely in the present moment. I meditate often, but find myself being intruded by random thoughts still. I want to master meditation someday.

#6 What's the most important piece of advice you'd give to women of your age?

Pursue your dreams, life is short. Live it the way you want to! You don’t owe anyone anything but yourself.
